SOMESHA thrilled to secure Zakariy’s journey

kampalaThe Secretary General of the Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) H.E. Mr. Daud Abdi Daud delighted to welcome in Nairobi cofounder and head of SOMESHA information officer Mr. Zakariye Haji better known as “kampala” after constant phone threats and intimidation by unknown group.

Mr. Zakariye is a prominent and active Somali journalist who was previously worked local news paper such as awiyaha-nolosha and samba radio and currently kulmiye radio all based in Mogadishu. He is also a freelance writer at online websites such as allbanadir.com and warqad.com.

SOMESHA also joined and supported the voice from the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) and condemned decision by the Somaliland Information Minister in which he reportedly suspended the operations of Universal TV on 03 February, 2014, the latest in a string of violence against the journalist and the media in Somaliland.

NUSOJ condemns the decision by the Somaliland authorities to ban the television and called for its immediate secession and stop intimidations, harassments, arbitrary detentions against the journalists and the media at large and respect mthe media freedoms and the freedom of expression which has been guaranteed under both the Federal constitution and the Somaliland constitution
