Daud saddened the torture over the two radio directors in Mogadishu and calls media rally

The Secretary General of the Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) H.E. Mr. Daud Abdi Daud condemned the malicious detention and torture by Somalia’s National Security Agency and calls urgent Change for the National Security Agency Officers behind this operation.

“I have been tracking their detention over the last three days and acknowledged that the two were arrested after broadcasting similar reports on Tuesday about a blast by an improvised explosive device that wounded the deputy governor of the Lower Shabelle Region of Somalia. I also acknowledged that Mr. Kofi who is from the same clan of the deputy governor and a member of the National Security Agency Officers being behind their arrest and torture”said Mr. Daud Abdi Daud of SOMESHA Secretary General

“Acting national citizen’s interest or acting clan interest is different and some one who is doing revenge within the government officials name is absolutely civilian fallout and we call reforming the national security agency officers in order to protect innocent citizens. I also call constant media protests in a peaceful manner in order to act our freedom of expression and press freedom as well” Mr. Daud added

On Tuesday evening, the National Security agency arrested the two independent radio stations directors, Mohamed Barre better known as “fiyore” and Ibrahim Mohamed from Radio Danan and Radio Haatuf. They were in custody without charge for two days and threatened to kill them if they continued to air news critical of the government.somalia-20140214
